If sbm or similar doesn't work you may have a drive that older and
only recognizes certain types of cd's. For example, I have a number
of old drives that recognize factory-pressed and cd-r but not cd-rw,
and even a couple that only recognize factory-pressed cd's. There are
also drives that recognize discs burned session-at-once but not
track-at-once, or muli-session.

So if you're using a cd-rw, try a cd-r. If a cd-r doesn't work, try
something factory-pressed to see if that is the culprit.

I'm afraid I have no idea other than that (I can bring a cd-rom that
reads cd-r's to the next meeting, maybe even reads cd-rw's (depends on
what's in the drives from Brad)).

Cheers,

Daniel

And that's my crabbing done for the day. Got it out of the way early,
now I have the rest of the afternoon to sniff fragrant tea-roses or
strangle cute bunnies or something. -- Michael Devore
