sorry I don't have any ram, but I do have a question...
I currently have aquired a compaq pIII 866 that for the life of me, I can't get to boot from the CD-ROM.
the best I can do is in isolating it, get a signal that it has a 'non-system disc, reload, retry'
I thought that having redone a number of these lately that you may have run into this, and have found a solution.
I do get an occasional message, that if you're running unix, you must configure 'it' in the set-up utility.
I can't really find anything that would warrant changing, unless you include disabling the floppy or altering the wake functions. it's pretty primitive.
any ideas would be appreciated.
it will go on to load ubuntu from a previously loaded hard drive ok but the disc was partitioned with a now missing larger disc and is not complete enough to load from.
