[Bglug] In Honduras

2006-12-07 15:00

Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd drop you a line because everyone seemed so interested. I got to Honduras safely last Thursday (despite a cold which made my head feel about to implode during the pressure changes on the flights... Ugh). The kids here are great, I helped teach my first classes (art) this morning, and hit the markets for the first time this afternoon. The other volunteers - well, right now there are only three of them, an older woman and two guys my age - are cool, not quite what I'd expect to find, but the unexpected is part of the adventure, right? The weather is really fun, since it's beautiful all morning and the beginning of the afternoon, and then a torrential thunderstorm begins almost without warning. We hiked to some hot springs and went swimming on Saturday, and did a bunch of other interesting things, including watching 'The Pianist' last night. Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well, it was great being able to attend the meetings over the summer.

I know of a kernel driver that allows setting up /devs as network transparent, but it's probably overkill and too complex for what you want.

Is there an easy way to write to /dev/ttyS0 (dumb serial device)
attached to another machine. On that remote machine, I just do
cat ... > /dev/ttyS0

But, how do I this from separate machine? I guess, I can use 'inetd'
